Introducing Samantha Rae Lazar

Samantha Rae Lazar is a writer, poet, and educator based in North Carolina. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in English with a concentration in creative writing and secondary education from Appalachian State University, and later obtained a Master's in Education from Meredith College. With over two decades of teaching experience, Samantha currently instructs 5th-grade students, covering subjects ranging from Language Arts to personal development.
As an author, Samantha has published several works that explore themes of trauma, healing, and personal growth. Her debut poetry collection, "Reaching Marrakesh," was released in November 2020. This was followed by "Soon We're All Gone to Seed: Poetry and Stories" in October 2022, a compilation of poetry and short stories delving into darker aspects of the human psyche. In August 2023, she published "Don't Tell Your Grandma," a collection that weaves narratives of relationships, sexualization, and trauma through magical realism and dark humor.
