Robert Watson, born in 1962, is an American political scientist and historian specializing in U.S. political and military history. He holds a bachelor's degree from Virginia Tech, a master's from the University of West Florida, and a Ph.D. from Florida Atlantic University. Throughout his academic career, Watson has held positions at Northern Arizona University, the University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo, and Florida Atlantic University, where he was honored as the 2006 Distinguished Teacher of the Year. In 2007, he joined Lynn University as the Distinguished Professor of American History and Avron Fogelman Research Professor.
