Ray Romano, born Raymond Albert Romano on December 21, 1957, in Queens, New York, is an American stand-up comedian, actor, and writer.He is best known for his role as Raymond "Ray" Barone on the CBS sitcom Everybody Loves Raymond (1996–2005), a portrayal that earned him three Primetime Emmy Awards.Romano also provided the voice for the character Manny in the Ice Age film series.Before his acting career, he performed in the New York City comedy club circuit and gained national attention with a guest spot on The Late Show with David Letterman.
