Joshua Winslow Groban was born on February 27, 1981, in Los Angeles, California, to Jack Groban, a businessman, and Lindy Groban, a school teacher. His heritage reflects a blend of Jewish ancestry from Poland and Ukraine on his father’s side (though his father converted to Christianity) and English, German, Norwegian, and some Ashkenazi Jewish roots on his mother’s side. Raised in an Episcopalian household, Groban showed an early aptitude for performance.
