Frank T. Vertosick Jr., born in 1955 in Harwick, Pennsylvania, is an American neurosurgeon and author renowned for his insightful writings on medicine and the human experience. He pursued undergraduate studies in physics at the University of Pittsburgh before earning his medical degree from the same institution's School of Medicine. Vertosick remained at the University of Pittsburgh for his neurosurgical residency, training under the esteemed Dr. Peter Jannetta.
